B.Tech Marine Engineering (Lateral Entry)
Diploma students can join the second year of lateral entry B.Tech Marine Engineering course. This course is three years residential programme, structured into six academic semesters.

ELIGIBILITY:
Diploma in Mechanical / Marine Engineering from any institute approved by AICTE with atleast 60% marks overall and should have completed the Diploma within stipulated period of 3 years. The candidate should have secured 50% marks in English subject in class 10th / 12th.

Below 25 years at the time of entry
MEDICAL STANDARD:
Candidate should be physically fit for sea service under standard norms, with eyesight distance vision up to (+ or -) 2.5 with no colour blindness. Minimum height should be 157 centimetres.

TRAINING AT CMC:
Apart from the regular curriculum, the cadets are trained in our Ship in Campus to monitor normal operations of the main engine including all the auxiliary machinery and the capability to troubleshoot malfunctions and to perform repair and maintenance. Marine Engineering cadets are trained in using onboard workshops and tools to affect repairs of components and manufacture simple itemsThe training also includes the development of competency in verbal communication, safety culture in the maritime environment and important aspects of shipping. The cadets are inculcated with the sense of discipline, team spirit and the right attitude with a lot of physical and mental activities.
CAREER PATH:
After the completion of the course, the cadets will be issued with the CDC, INDoS No., Course Completion and Degree Certificate. The cadets will join the Ship as a Fifth Engineer.They can go for higher studies.They can get shore jobs in shipbuilding industries.
