Coimbatore Marine College (CMC) is one of the best maritime Institutes in India situated at Coimbatore.CMC is graded A1 'Outstanding' by Indian Register of Shipping.It is conducting whole range of Pre-Sea, Post-Sea Courses approved by DG Shipping under the Ministry of Shipping. A1 Grading from the Indian Registrar of Shipping is the highest certification being granted by Shipping to maritime training institutes in the country as per stringent norms laid out by the DG Shipping.

With regard to Nautical sciences the career ladder and the growth opportunities is enormous from cadets to captains in a span of few years to adapt in both foreign and Indian flagships. The rise up in the career ladder begins almost soon after the graduation or completion of the course. On joining the flagship, as a trainee marine engineer or 5 th Engineer the progress to 4th ,3rd and 2nd Engineer and Chief Engineer officer can be achieved within a span of 5-6 years.
We emphasize students to be well updated in latest trend patterns and we as well shape them by providing our fellow students the hands-on learning experience and few other regular classes on English proficiency, Communication skills and personality development training and are regularized for their well being.
We encourage our fellow students and trigger them to actively participate in various exhibitions, seminars and paper presentations and are encouraged to pursue research-oriented learning. Every year we do organize Interactive seminars and lectures by leading professionals from the marine industry for the true well-being of our mates.
Infrastructure
A campus automation system connects all the departments within the campus is being planned to facilitate inter-departmental interaction and faster response. This is also the first step towards making CMC a paperless environment in the future.

The Campus is situated in a sprawling area of more than 10 acres of land on National Highway on Pollachi Main Road, at Myleripalayam about 12 kms away from Railway Station and 20kms away from the Airport.

Separate building for Administration, Class Rooms and Hostel in an area of 40,000 sq.ft. to cater complete residential programme for the students.

Ship-in-Campus :
TS Clarissa, the ship in campus is a five storied ship which was conceived with the intention of giving students a real-time experience into the workings of a ship. Designed and built on a real life model the ship in campus, TS Clarissa is the first of its kind in India and one of the best in the world.
